Drought tolerant, the Chick Charms® Giant Gold Mine Hens and Chicks is low maintenance and easy to care for. It is both deer and rabbit resistant. Giant Gold Mine is often grown in rock and gravel gardens, and is ideal for growing in containers or troughs. Grow this sempervivum in USDA zones 3 to 8.

The Chick Charms® Giant Gold Mine Hens and Chicks grows in full sun to partial shade. It needs free-draining soil and can tolerate poorer substrates. Give it a little water during the first year to help it establish. From then on, it can cope with prolonged dry spells. Feeding is not usually needed. Nevertheless, a general-purpose fertilizer can be sparingly applied in the spring.
Cut back flowering stems after they have faded. Propagate this succulent by gently removing the chicks and transplanting them to another space.
