Feature
The prolific foliage is the standout feature of Syngonium podophyllum, but the Confetti cultivar has something extra to offer and boasts light pink accents. The Syngonium podophyllum 'Confetti' has arrowhead or butterfly-shaped leaves in a light green hue with creamy white accents along the midrib and veining. Random light pink splashes make a statement and help this plant stand out. The leaves grow on stems that measure several inches long and emerge from a long, reaching vine. Also known as Arrowhead Vine, this plant is beginner-friendly and a good pick for anyone into variegated foliage.
Best Locations For Growing Confetti Syngonium
Syngonium podophyllum 'Confetti' is easy to grow and relatively hands-off. This leafy houseplant makes a good addition to any room in your home. However, syngonium plants are poisonous to people and pets, so be careful if you have little ones or curious pets.
Confetti Syngonium Sunlight Requirements
Syngonium plants can live in bright, indirect light to medium sunlight. Bright, indirect sunlight is best for the Confetti Syngonium. Increased sunlight intensifies the variegation. The pink splotches may appear muted or fade if the plant receives inadequate sunlight. Insufficient sunlight also makes the plant leggy. Avoid direct sunlight, which can singe the leaves.
Confetti Syngonium Care
Remove dead or fading leaves as necessary, but Syngoniums seldom need special care. Repot every one to two years or if the roots grow through holes in the pot. The Confetti Syngonium does not like overly wet conditions, so use well-drained soil and a pot with drainage holes. This is a vining plant, so position it where the vines can hang down or give it a moss pole or trellis.
Watering Confetti Syngonium
Water the Confetti Syngonium when the top several inches of potting soil are dry. Too much water can damage the plant, so feel the soil before watering. Empty the saucer or cover pot if there is excess water. Increased humidity helps the Confetti Syngonium thrive. This plant naturally grows in tropical and subtropical climates, so extra moisture in the air is best. Syngonium plants can live in average humidity, but low humidity can cause the leaves to dry and wither.
Feeding Confetti Syngonium
Fertilize Confetti Syngonium every four weeks during the spring and summer. Use a balanced fertilizer to encourage root and foliage growth. Using a water-soluble plant food is often easier because it can be combined with routine watering and reduces the risk of fertilizer burn.
