Graceful Grasses® Purple Fountain Grass has rich burgundy foliage and long, arching, crimson plumes from late summer to late fall. It is a four-season beauty, however, as the dried grass and seed heads provide winter interest. The plant has an upright, arching habit reaching a height of 30-36 inches. Its many awards include the Royal Horticultural Society’s prestigious Award of Garden Merit.

An easy-care plant, it is heat and drought tolerant. It is pest and disease free, plus deer avoid it. Graceful Grasses® Purple Fountain Grass is dramatic when planted in clusters, mass plantings, or alone. Use it to screen something unsightly, or to soften driveways and courtyards. Make it a focal point in containers or with cut flowers.

This is an easy-care plant. It needs no deadheading. Give it a low to average amount of water. Plant Pennisetum in light, moderately fertile, well-drained soil. For best results, locate it in part sun to sun.
