Growing Zones
The Incrediball Blush Hydrangea from Proven Winners ColorChoice is a wonderful smooth hydrangea with enormous blooms! The flowers on this shrub are the largest you can get! The flowers are anywhere from light to dark pink, and this is one of our favorite hydrangeas we have grown!
These shrubs are bred specifically for their large flowers, and the very strong stems that are able to hold the blooms upright. These are reblooming hydrangeas and great for producing immaculate cut flowers for arrangements or bouquets. The plant is an improved version of 'Annabelle', with bigger flowers and sturdier stems.
This shrub is also native to North America, and extremely easy to grow with very little maintenance. Pollinators absolutely love these giant flowers as well. You can also grow this in most of the United States, as it is hardy from zones 3a to 9b!
Incrediball Blush Hydrangea Care
Hydrangea arborescens, smooth hydrangea, or ‘Annabelle’ hydrangeas are the easiest type of hydrangea to take care of and grow. These perform best in full-sunlight and can be grown from zones 3 to 9! In warmer climates, it can be beneficial to provide shade in the afternoons to help protect against the hot summer days. These should get a minimum of 6 hours a day of sunlight for the best performance.
Pruning Incrediball Blush Hydrangeas is really easy as well. Do this in early spring, as the new growth begins to emerge on the stems. Cut back ⅓ of the length of the branch. That’s all there is to growing this beautiful bush!
If you want to fertilize, use granular fertilizer formulated for flowering shrubs in early spring. Look for one that is generally for flowering shrubs, like a rose fertilizer.
Incrediball Blush Hydrangea Spacing
We love growing these into beautiful hedges. If you choose to do so, space these 4 to 5 feet apart, center on center. If you choose to plant these in mass plantings, space them at least 6 feet apart, center on center.
