Best Locations For Growing Janet Craig Dracaena
This is a great plant to place on the floor due to its mature height. This plant performs best in room temperatures ranging from 65 - 90 degrees F. Avoid placing it near cold drafts and in room temperatures below 55 degrees.
Janet Craig Dracaena Sunlight Requirements
Janet Craig prefers filtered indirect light but will grow in lower light levels. Be sure to avoid direct sunlight.
Janet Craig Dracaena Care
Plant this Dracaena in a well-draining potting mix that contains sand, peat, or pine bark, but avoid a potting mix with perlite as Dracaenas are sensitive to it. Janet Craig Dracaena is not a fan of really hot temperatures; if it's placed in an environment with temperatures over 90 degrees F for an extended period, its leaves may begin to discolor. Give the plant leaves a light dusting from time to time to keep the foliage clean. Trim any brown tips and leaf edges off using sharp, clean scissors, following the natural contour of the leaf.
Watering Janet Craig Dracaena
Use distilled or rainwater to water your plant, or allow for tap water to sit for 24 hours before watering to allow chemicals to dissipate. Allow the top inch or two of the soil to dry out in between waterings as this plant is not a fan of soggy soils. Janet Craig Dracaena will appreciate a light misting of its leaves and soil.
Feeding Janet Craig Dracaena
You will not need to regularly fertilize Janet Craig; Dracaena plants are sensitive to fertilizer salt buildup.
