Oval-shaped leaves have serrated edges on young trees. The leaves have a smooth surface but may form a downy-like texture by summer. The foliage measures 2 to 5 inches long. New leaves emerge as pink or bronze and settle into a bluish-green. Light green along the midrib and veining provides contrast. The foliage stands out against the mottled bark that has hints of both light and dark gray. Mature trees reach 40 to 60 feet tall and 30 to 40 feet wide.
The Mexican White Oak Tree is a fast-growing tree that can grow up to 4 feet in a single year. These trees can live to be 100 years old, ensuring they will be a long-term addition to a landscape. Use the Mexican White Oak Tree as a shade tree or specimen planting. This tree is native to Mexico and is extremely drought tolerant, easy to grow, and relatively resistant to many pests and diseases.
