The Nimbus™ Pink Meadow Rue looks fantastic when in bloom, but the foliage is also lovely. The light pink flowers of the Thalictrum Nimbus™ Pink have a fluffy look and bloom on tall stems from May through June. Deep green, fern-like foliage provides a lovely background to the flowers and gives the plant a stately look throughout the rest of the growing season.
Meadow Rue is tall, so plant near the back of a mixed bed, so the towering stems will not block smaller plants. The bold, textured flowers make a statement during the spring, but the green foliage easily fills in a space for the summer and fall. This plant is deer resistant but attracts pollinators. Grow this dazzling beauty in USDA zones 5 through 9.
Nimbus™ Pink Meadow Rue Care
Meadow Rue needs full sun to partial shade but will do best with at least 3 hours of direct sunlight. Soil should be rich and allow for drainage. This plant is drought-tolerant but give it water when the top few inches of soil are dry. Meadow Rue is not a heavy feeder, especially when grown in rich soil but fertilize in the spring for healthy growth.
Pinch back spent flowers so the plant maintains a tidy appearance and encourages more blooms. This plant is a herbaceous perennial, and greenery can be trimmed back in the fall.
Nimbus™ Pink Meadow Rue Spacing
As a mounded, upright plant, the Nimbus™ Pink Meadow Rue will grow 24 to 28 inches tall and 12 to 16 inches wide. When creating a dense mass planting, space Meadow Rue 12 to 16 inches apart.
