Feathery white flowers grow on tall, foliage-covered stems, making the Nimbus™ White Meadow Rue a stunning perennial to include in a landscape. The upright stems of the Thalictrum Nimbus™ reach up to 28 inches tall, and the deep, dark green leaves slightly resemble a fern. Large, fluffy flowers bloom on the terminal ends of each stem. The blooms are white with a slight pink tint. Enjoy the blooms from May through June.
Plant the lovely Meadow Rue in a bed, border, or mass planting. The height and texture make this plant a wonderful addition to the back of a bed or planting, or the foliage can conceal a foundation wall or fence. Deer avoid the foliage while pollinators seek out the flowers. Grow the Nimbus™ White Meadow Rue as a perennial in USDA zones 5 through 9.
Nimbus™ White Meadow Rue Care
This plant needs at least 3 hours of sunlight, so select a spot that receives full sun to partial shade. Meadow Rue can handle dry spells but continue to water during a drought to ensure the plant stays green and leafy. Plant in rich, well-drained soil. Fertilizing is unnecessary when grown in rich soil, while plants grown in lower quality soil will benefit from applying balanced plant food during the spring.
Deadheading will keep the plant looking neat and clean and may slightly extend the blooming period. Nimbus™ White Meadow Rue is a herbaceous perennial, and the greenery can be cut back in the fall or removed in the spring before new growth appears.
Nimbus™ White Meadow Rue Spacing
Nimbus™ White Meadow Rue is a mounded, upright plant that will reach 24 to 28 inches tall and spread 12 to 16 inches. Create a dense planting by spacing these perennials 12 to 16 inches apart.
