Coral Bells are easy, leafy perennials that look amazing year after year. The Primo® Pistachio Ambrosia Coral Bells have light green foliage with scalloped edges. The leaves grow in a rosette formation, creating a full look. Tiny pink flowers bloom in clusters on top of thin stems during the summer. The flowers are a draw for pollinators, but some gardeners remove the flower spikes to encourage more foliage growth.
Grow this beauty in beds, borders, mass plantings, or any shady areas that need bold, chartreuse color. This plant is easy to maintain and salt tolerant, making it a good choice near roadways or ocean areas. Heuchera plants retain their foliage in the warmer reaches of their growing zones, allowing this plant to provide year-round color. Grow the Primo® Pistachio Ambrosia Coral Bells as a perennial in zones 4 through 9.
Primo® Pistachio Ambrosia Coral Bells Care
This plant does well in part shade to full shade, with a few hours of sunlight bringing out the best growth. Plant it in rich, well-drained soil with an acidic to neutral pH. Coral Bells have medium water needs. Apply a slow-release fertilizer in the spring to encourage plenty of foliage.
Remove dead or damaged growth at any time, but leave the foliage in place year-round. This is a hardy plant, and the foliage will continue to look amazing during the winter in areas with warm winter weather.
Primo® Pistachio Ambrosia Coral Bells Spacing
The Primo® Pistachio Ambrosia Coral Bells has a mounded, upright growth habit and will reach 10 to 12 inches tall and 24 to 30 inches wide. Space plants 2 feet apart to create a full, leafy planting.
