Crocosmia 'Prince of Orange' features bright red and orange flowers. These blooms last through summer until fall. Crocosmia are great at attracting hummingbirds and other beneficial pollinators. 'Prince of Orange' can grow up to 30-36 inches tall and has a spread of 12-18 inches.

'Prince of Orange' makes a stunning background plant in flower beds. It adds a tall, vertical element to borders. Perfect for the back row of borders, rock gardens, and cut arrangements, Crocosmia 'Prince of Orange' has an upright growth habit. It is a popular choice for the ‘thriller’ of ‘thriller-filler-spiller’ combinations in container planting.

Prince of Orange Crocosmia Care

The Prince of Orange Crocosmia thrives in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. Plant it in a south-, east- or west-facing exposure. For best results, plant this shrub in well-draining soil that is able to retain some moisture. Mulching around the plant will help with retaining moisture.

Crocosmia requires no pruning. Remove dead leaves and flower stems in the fall as needed. Every few years, Prince of Orange Crocosmia should be divided to avoid overcrowding. Applying a thick winter mulch will be beneficial for this plant. In zones 1-4, store the corms indoors over winter.

Prince of Orange Crocosmia Spacing

For best results, give this plant some room to spread. Plant them spaced about 10-12 inches apart.
