Low Maintenance

Silver Bay Aglaonema, also referred to as Chinese Evergreen ‘Silver Bay’, is an easy plant to grow and care for. The striking variegated leaves have patterns of dark to silvery-green leaves. This plant is a native to Asia and can tolerate average household climates very well. The Silver Bay is a perfect accent for the home or office.

Best Locations For Growing Silver Bay Aglaonema

The slender, silver foliage of this plant complements many home decor designs. Grow this plant in a location that receives plenty of sunlight such as an atrium, sun room, or any other bright room. The Silver Bay is also a great low-maintenance plant for the office.

Silver Bay Aglaonema Sunlight Requirements

Silver Bay Aglaonema needs plenty of indirect light to thrive. Two or three feet away from a south-facing window, or near an east- or west-facing window are ideal positions, but this plant can tolerate low light conditions for brief periods of time.

Silver Bay Aglaonema Care

When repotting the Silver Bay Aglaonema, provide it with well-draining potting soil. An ideal blend would be 2 parts all-purpose potting soil, 1 part perlite, and 1 part orchid bark. This blend is excellent for root airflow and soil drainage. This plant only requires repotting every couple of years.

Watering Silver Bay Aglaonema

Water this plant when the top two to three inches of soil are dry. Keep the soil slightly moist but not soggy. Allow excess water to run through the drainage holes of your pot. Aglaonema can tolerate being dry for brief periods of time.

Feeding Silver Bay Aglaonema

The Silver Bay doesn’t need much fertilizer to thrive. Use a balanced, all-purpose houseplant fertilizer about every two months during the growing season.
