The bold, showy blooms of the Beacon™ Salmon Impatiens will add a pop of pinkish orange to your outdoor space. The striking flowers continue to bloom from planting until frost for a consistent and vibrant source of color. The delicate flowers feature five petals that completely open until the bloom is flat. Impatiens walleriana also boast glossy, green foliage that gives the plant a full and lush appearance.

Use Impatiens in landscapes where this mounded annual will do well in garden beds cast in partial shade. The Beacon™ Salmon Impatiens are considered medium height and will grow 14 to 18 inches tall, so place them near the middle or front of a bed so the showy blooms will be visible. Impatiens are excellent container plants where they are commonly used as a filler. Feature them in a container on a porch, balcony, or other low-light areas.

Beacon™ Salmon Impatiens Care

Plant Impatiens in areas with part to full shade. These plants need some light, but 4 hours of sunlight is plenty for these low-maintenance plants to thrive. Soil should be rich, slightly acidic, and well-draining. Impatiens like somewhat moist conditions, so water when the top layer of soil is dry. Feed the plant using a balanced fertilizer every other week. Impatiens are easy to maintain, but too much water and fertilizer can make them leggy.

Impatiens are grown as annuals in most regions, but they can live indoors during the winter. Trim the plants back, place them in a sunny window, and water when the top couple of inches of soil are dry to the touch. The plants can be brought back outdoors as soon as the weather consistently warms up.

Beacon™ Salmon Impatiens Spacing

This variety of Impatiens will grow 14 to 18 inches tall and cover 12 to 14 inches. Create a continuous planting by spacing plants 8 to 10 inches apart so the greenery will overlap as the plants fill in. Feature 3 to 4 Impatiens in a 10- to 12-inch container.
