The Bloomerang Dwarf Pink Reblooming Lilac by Proven Winners ColorChoice is a small shrub with amazing performance. The fragrant pure pink blooms cover the plant in late spring, then reappear throughout summer and fall. This is the perfect shrub for someone that loves lilacs but doesn't have a lot of room. So basically anyone can buy this plant! The Bloomerang Dwarf Pink Lilac is deciduous, meaning that the leaves fall off each winter, and come back in the spring. There are pink colored flowers that bloom during spring/summer/fall. The flowers bloom on both old & new wood, which mean the flower buds are grown on branches grown the prior year and also the branches that are part of the new growth of the plant. While no plants are truly deer proof, these plants are deer resistant. The Bloomerang Dwarf Pink Lilac will also attract butterflies & many other pollinator when in bloom!
In garden containers, use this as a filler. Fillers tend to be rounded or mounded to give the combination a fuller look. Fillers are usually placed in front of, or around, the Thriller. Consider growing these in garden planters or containers for added flexibility on locations limited on space or sunlight. Great for cut flower arrangements or bouquets. Stays short and perfect as a border plant, which are perfect placed along the edge of a garden bed or path. Plant these to provide well-defined edging along various features in your landscape such as the border between your property and the neighbors, to a border along a hardscape feature in your yard, such as a driveway or sidewalk; or to the plants that edge a perennial garden. This plant works great in mass planting or as focal point in your landscaping. These also work very well for screening. The Bloomerang Dwarf Pink Lilac typically grows 2.5-3 feet tall, and 2.5-3 feet wide. For best plant health and results, space these plants 2.5-3 feet apart, center on center. The growth habit is upright. The good news is that this plant is also easy to care for. Plant in a location that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. It is disease and deer resistant. Butterflies love this plant, and so will you and your friends! It is winter hardy in growing zones 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b, 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b.
Interesting Fact(s) - The name of Syringa is from the Greek word syrinx, which means tube. The stems of lilacs contain a spongy center that you can remove that creates a hollow tube.
