Lilacs are aromatic, gorgeous all-season bloomers in the landscape. Bloomerang Dwarf Purple Lilac offers all the best features of the shrubs in a compact, reblooming plant. If you've always wanted a lilac bush and thought you didn't have the space for one, Dwarf Purple can fill your desire. It grows to about one-third the size of conventional lilacs, but still outperforms most of them with its purple blooms that cover the shrub beginning in late spring.

Bloomerang Dwarf Purple Lilac grows to a height and diameter of about 3 feet. You can tuck it into nearly any space in your garden. But be sure to choose one you pass or sit by regularly so you can enjoy the sweet lilac aroma. Butterflies and other pollinators know a good thing when they sense it and they flock to Dwarf Purple Lilac. You also can use this little lilac as a filler in a large container or as a pretty border plant.

Bloomerang Dwarf Purple Lilac Care

Place Bloomerang Dwarf Purple Lilac in full sun in soil that drains well. It prefers alkaline soil. Water your lilac regularly but avoid letting the ground around it get soggy. Add some mulch when you plant. Lilacs bloom best with good spring growth, so you can fertilize them in early spring as soon as the ground thaws and again after their first bloom. That also means to avoid pruning the plant in fall; only trim it lightly after its spring bloom. Bloomerang Dwarf Purple thrives in zones 3 through 7.
