The Bloomify™ Mango Lantana is colorful, easy to maintain, and a repeat bloomer. Tiny, trumpet-shaped flowers have ruffled ends and bloom in clusters. The rounded clusters feature butter-yellow inner flowers surrounded by a row of apricot flowers and, lastly, a row of orange blooms. The transition is lovely and adds to the appeal. This cultivar is sterile, so it puts all its energy into flowering. The Lantana camara 'Baloomang' blooms from spring through fall. Green foliage has gently scalloped edges and complements the multi-color flower clusters.
Lantana has a well-branched, mounded form that looks charming in a mixed bed but can also work well in a border. Use the Bloomify™ Mango Lantana as a filler in a container. Lantana holds up in summer weather and is heat and drought tolerant, making it a good plant for warm climates or forgetful gardeners. The flowers support pollinators like bees and hummingbirds, and butterflies particularly favor them.
Bloomify™ Mango Lantana Care
Choose a location with full sun to keep the flowers coming. Give the Bloomify™ Mango Lantana rich, moist, and well-drained soil. Water when the soil is dry, and be prepared to water potted plants daily, depending on rainfall. Use a slow-release fertilizer in the spring.
Remove leggy growth around mid-summer to encourage a bushy appearance. Lantana plants are prolific bloomers but will produce more blooms with pinching. The Bloomify™ Mango Lantana is a perennial in zones 9 through 11. After a hard frost, trim growth to ground level and apply a thick layer of mulch to protect the roots when growing this plant as a perennial. Annual plants can be removed after the first frost.
Bloomify™ Mango Lantana Spacing
The Bloomify™ Mango Lantana is a dwarf cultivar that grows 12 to 14 inches tall and 10 to 12 inches wide. Potted plants need a 10-inch-wide container, while landscape plants can be spaced 10 to 12 inches apart, center on center.
