Growing Zones
The sprays of beautiful, lacy, cream-colored flowers will have you in love. Chantilly Lace is tolerant to drought and thrives in part shade. This North American native is easy to grow and maintain. The color of its blooms will blend well in any landscape. This perennial is resistant to deer and attracts bees.
The foliage is a rich bright green. In early to mid-summer you will notice the plentiful, cream-colored blooms begin to appear on top of the foliage. The Chantilly Lace is native to North America and reaches a height of 30 to 32 inches. The spread is an impressive 40 to 48 inches. It has a mounded growing habit that makes it the perfect addition in containers as a filler. Plant as a border plant or use its cut flowers in arrangements or bouquets. This perennial can be mass planted and is a stunning focal point in any landscape.
Chantilly Lace Goatsbeard Care
The Chantilly Lace should be planted in part shade for best results. In northern climates it can tolerate full sun, as long as plenty of water is provided. The soil should be rich, moist and well drained. Plant in a soil with a neutral pH. The water needs are average, but once established this plant is tolerant to dry conditions. Trim spent blooms mid-summer to encourage rebloom. Apply a slow-release fertilizer in the spring. Mulching the base for winter in cold climates can be beneficial to the root system.
Chantilly Lace Goatsbeard Spacing
Be sure to give the Chantilly Lace plenty of room to grow as it does not like to be transplanted once established. It requires spacing of 3.5’ to 4’ feet of spacing, center on center.
