With flowers resembling a cross between a daffodil and a perfectly fried egg, Czechmark Sunny Side Up Weigela makes a cheerful statement in any landscape. Part of the Czechmark series of weigela, developed in the Czech Republic, this shrub takes the best features of easy-care weigelas and adds pure colors in bountiful blooms. Sunny Side Up's unique creamy white flowers with a bright yellow center begin to appear in late spring or early summer. The plant has a long blooming season in sunny spots of zones 4 through 8.

Czechmark Sunny Side Up Weigela, like many of its weigela relatives, is a perfect choice for a shrub to create a privacy hedge or screen out an unsightly structure like an air conditioner. The plants grow to more than 4 feet high and wide and fill with the bright flowers that attract bees and hummingbirds. What's more, rabbits and deer tend to ignore Sunny Side Up in favor or other plants. When blooms fade, this weigela displays lush apple-green leaves.

Czechmark Sunny Side Up Weigela Care

Just plant your single or group of Czechmark Sunny Side Up Weigelas in full sun for the most flowers, a little afternoon shade in hotter zones. They usually grow well in any soil type and need little maintenance. If you want to lightly prune the shrub or a hedge for shape, wait until after the flowers are done blooming for the summer. Weigela blooms form each spring on wood left from the previous year.

Czechmark Sunny Side Up Weigela Spacing

Czechmark Sunny Side Up Weigela is a must-have for bright summer gardens or hummingbird gardens. Even one is stunning, but a group of these plants will bring a smile to anyone who walks by. Space hedge plants 4 to 5 feet apart from centers.

Interesting Fact - These beautiful weigela were developed in the Czech Republic, where the names comes from.
