Plectranthus are versatile plants that are not very fussy about the care they receive but leave a lasting impression because of their beautiful variegated foliage. The FanciFillers™ Guacamole Plectranthus will add instant style to a landscape or container thanks to its unique foliage. The broad, textured leaves have scalloped edges and are primarily yellow but are randomly spotted with avocado green variegation. Deep red stems support the foliage.
This plant is a vigorous grower that also blooms during the summer, but the flowers are rather insignificant compared to the foliage. Feature the FanciFillers™ Guacamole Plectranthus in a landscape that needs leafy color or use as a filler in a container. The naturally mounded growth habit gives the plant a full look, and it takes on the role of filler in a container. Pinch back growth to maintain a bushy appearance.
FanciFillers™ Guacamole Plectranthus Care
This plant can live in full to partial sun but stick to partial sun to promote more intense color and variegation. Ideally, Plectranthus should receive 4 to 6 hours of sunlight each day. Plectranthus prefers evenly moist soil, so give the plant a drink when the top couple of inches of soil feel dry. Plant Plectranthus is rich, well-draining soil that has an acidic pH. Apply a 10-20-10 fertilizer once a month to support new growth.
Move the Plectranthus indoors for the winter to continue enjoying its leafy good looks. As a houseplant, Plectranthus requires lots of bright light and routine watering.
FanciFillers™ Guacamole Plectranthus Spacing
The FanciFillers™ Guacamole Plectranthus is a medium-sized plant that will grow 18 to 24 inches tall and wide. As a landscape plant, space Plectranthus plants 18 to 24 inches apart. For container-grown plants, feature 2 to 3 in a 12-inch container.
