The tiny chartreuse green foliage of the Fine Leaf Gold Sedum Succulent is so appealing that it will make you want to run your hand over it. Growing to only 2 to 3 inches high, this sedum also produces small clusters of flowers. It is suitable for growing either indoors or outdoors depending on the region.
The Fine Leaf Gold Sedum Succulent is drought tolerant and wonderfully low maintenance. Forming small mounds, it has a semi-trailing habit and is suitable for growing in USDA zones 9 to 11. This stunning stonecrop is suitable for growing either in a container or in a rock garden.
Fine Leaf Gold Sedum Succulent Care
The Fine Leaf Gold Sedum Succulent is best grown in full sun but can also tolerate a little shade. It prefers free-draining soil and is drought tolerant once established; it only needs a little water to help it settle in and withstand periods of drought. Although not generally necessary, you can feed this sedum with a cactus fertilizer during the growing season.
Pruning, apart from removing the faded blooms, is not required. Container-grown specimens can be brought inside to overwinter in colder parts. Select a container slightly larger than the root ball to avoid excess soil and moisture around the roots.
Fine Leaf Gold Sedum Succulent Spacing
In the right conditions, the Fine Leaf Gold Sedum Succulent can grow to 2 to 3 inches high and 8 to 12 inches across. If you want to form a mat of its stunning foliage, you can space this sedum around 8 inches apart, and the margins will knit together.
