The Livingstone Daisy has the classic good looks of a daisy but with a twist. Hot pink flowers have thin petals that surround yellow anthers. The overlapping petals give the blooms an almost feathery look. Enjoy the blooms throughout summer and into fall. The trailing stems have thick succulent leaves. The triangular foliage is green with creamy white margins.

The formal name of this plant is Dorotheanthus bellidiformis 'Mezoo Trailing Red’. This Dorotheanthus is a mat-forming plant with reaching stems, so use the Livingstone Daisy as a groundcover or fill gaps in a mixed bed. The Livingstone Daisy makes an excellent container plant where it functions as a spiller. Feature this plant in a hanging basket or window box where the stems can hang down.

Livingstone Daisy Care

Plant the Livingstone Daisy in full sun and in dry, well-drained soil. This beauty is heat and drought tolerant and prefers to mostly dry out before being watered. Container-grown plants need water more often than those in the ground, so water weekly or when the top layer of soil feels dry. Succulents are not heavy feeders, but applying a weak liquid fertilizer in the spring will help the plant thrive.

Remove spent flowers to maintain a tidy look. Trim growth to ground level after the first frost, or transplant the Livingstone Daisy into a container and move it inside for the winter.

Livingstone Daisy Spacing

Livingstone Daisy plants reach 3 to 5 inches tall and 12 to 15 inches wide. Space landscape plants 12 to 15 inches apart, center on center, or feature up to three plants in a 12-inch container.
