  • USDA Hardiness Zones 4-9
  • Height 6-8 Inches Tall
  • Spread 12-14 Inches Wide

This low maintenance perennial will produce lively bright magenta ¾ to 1-inch wide blossoms that rise above its foliage from late spring to early summer and rebloom in the fall. The jagged-edged blossoms look great against its low mounded blue-green grass-like foliage. During peak bloom time, the flowers will completely cover the plant.

The fragrant flowers are sweetly clover scented but not so cloyingly sweet that the scent is overwhelming. Paint the Town Magenta Pinks Dianthus makes a fabulous addition to border gardens, rock gardens and foundation plantings. It’s also a good option for planting along pathways, mass plantings and in container gardens as a filler plant. Cut a few stems and add them to your garden-inspired bouquets. The foliage will reach 6 inches in height with blossoms appearing about two inches higher. It has a spread of approximately 14 inches.

Paint the Town Magenta Pinks Dianthus Care

Prune Paint the Town Magenta Pinks Dianthus back in early spring before new growth begins. This perennial is both heat and drought tolerant so it can handle hot summer temperatures. It will attract bees and butterflies, but deer tend to leave it alone. Plant Paint the Town Magenta Pinks Dianthus in full to partial sun conditions in USDA plant hardiness zones 4 to 9.

Paint the Town Magenta Pinks Dianthus Spacing

Space individual plants approximately 10 inches apart to give them room to spread as they mature.
