Peppy Le Pom Pomegranate is a creative solution to enjoying pomegranate blooms in cooler regions, or even indoors. Pomegranate trees and shrubs are as pretty as they are productive, so Peppy Le Pom was developed to give gardeners all the ornamental value of bright orange blooms in a dwarf plant. Although Peppy Le Pom bears no fruit, it's a versatile little shrub and a pretty choice for a border, large container, or just as a bright focal spot in the landscape.

Because Peppy Le Pom Pomegranate is about a fourth the size of other pomegranate shrubs, it has plenty of uses in the garden. The small size also makes it an indoor/outdoor choice for regions that are cooler than zone 7, the coldest area where Peppy Le Pom can live outside all winter. You can grow it in a container and let it enjoy summer heat but stay safely tucked inside during cold months. Outdoors in warm zones (7 through 10), this little pomegranate blooms all summer and stays evergreen in winter.

Peppy Le Pom Pomegranate Care

Grow Peppy Le Pom Pomegranate in full sun for full growth and flowering. The shrub needs average water, and a little extra in its first year of growth or when planted in a container. Prune lightly in spring, avoiding cutting into any of the thick, woody stems. You can prune it into a topiary shape if you like. Don't worry if leaves drop when the plant is moved indoors; it is just adjusting to new conditions.

Peppy Le Pom Pomegranate Spacing

For a hedge full of bright orange tubular flowers, plant several Peppy Le Pom Pomegranate shrubs in a row. Space the young plants 3 feet apart from one center to another to account for their full size later.
