A relative to the Pugster Pink Butterfly bush, this adorable butterfly bush gets its name from none other than the Pug. It is cute, short, and stocky. If you are looking for a butterfly bush that produces full size flowers but fits in small spaces, then this is the bush for you. It produces full flowers during its long bloom season, providing you with the beauty of a full-size bush, but in a small space, thanks to its compact size.

The Pugster White has a green foliage that pairs well with its pure white blooms. This butterfly bush will provide you with a generous bloom season lasting summer through fall. This bush grows to a garden height of twenty-four inches with a spread of twenty-four to thirty-six inches. The blooms are fragrant and will attract pollinators of all sorts to your yard! Use this stunning butterfly bush as a border plant, for container planting, edging, ground cover, mass planting, for landscaping, or as a focal point.

Pugster White Butterfly Bush Care

Care for the Pugster Butterfly Bush is simple. It is important that the soil be well drained. Along with well-drained soil, this bush has a low water need and is adaptable to most soil types and those with varying PH levels. For optimal results be sure to plant your butterfly bush in full sun and ensure it receives six plus hours of direct sunlight per day. The Pugster White is susceptible to spider mites and should be checked regularly. Planting should take place in the fall if possible, but spring also works.

Pruning Pugster White Butterfly Bush is not necessary due to the compact size. If trimming is desired, it should be to shape only. Deadheading is also not needed.

Pugster White Butterfly Bush Spacing

Proper spacing is essential to ensure the health and longevity of the plant. When planting in proximity for edging purposes, mass planting, or ground cover, spacing for the Pugster White Butterfly Bush should be 24-36 inches, center on center.

Interesting Fact(s) - The name "Pugster" comes from the resemblance to a pug - short, stocky, and cute! There are five varieties we offer: Pugster Amethyst, Pugster Blue, Pugster Periwinkle, Pugster Pink, and Pugster White.

    Poor plant...

Posted by Taylor Wolz on May 25, 2023

I ordered 3 of these bushes, and all three arrived in the same poor condition. All sizes were as expected, but 1/2-3/4 of each plants leaves were brown, crispy & very unhealthy looking. They were planted immediately upon receiving, so we will see how they do. I don’t have high hopes for them

    Butterfly...

Posted by Customer on May 18, 2021

I ordered 3 plants 2 micro chip pink butterfly bushes that looked really healthy and robust and seem to be doing fine. However the pugster white really didn’t look that healthy. It has been in the ground now for 5 days. I carefully water it. Don’t want to over water. Hopefully it will do better.
