This Hemerocallis hybrid is a real showstopper when its pink, red and yellow flowers are in bloom. Growing to just over 2 feet tall, this daylily is ideal for adding some impact to a border or squeezing into a small space. This daylily blooms in midsummer and can repeat if deadheaded.
Being rabbit resistant and salt tolerant, the Rainbow Rhythm® Blood Sweat and Tears Daylily is perfectly suited for both coastal and rural locations. It is tolerant of a wide range of soils and is considered fairly low maintenance. When in bloom, its magnificent flowers will attract all manner of bees, butterflies and hummingbirds to your garden.
Rainbow Rhythm® Blood Sweat and Tears Daylily Care
For the best flowers, the Rainbow Rhythm® Blood Sweat and Tears Daylily should be planted in full sun. However, it will also tolerate some partial shade. As a tough perennial, this daylily can be grown in almost any soil and is suitable for zones 3 to 9. Once established, daylilies are generally drought tolerant. Nevertheless, frequent watering upon planting and for the first season is a must. When grown in fertile soil, extra feeding is not strictly necessary. However, a balanced fertilizer can be applied in spring for those grown on poorer soil or in pots.
As the flowers fade, they can be removed to encourage new blooms to appear. As the growth dies back at the end of the season, it can be cut to the ground and removed or left until spring. When growing daylilies in pots, more frequent watering is required to prevent the soil from drying out.

Over time, the Rainbow Rhythm® Blood Sweat and Tears Daylily can grow to 28 inches high by 24 inches wide. If planted en masse for maximum impact, a spacing of 18 to 24 inches between plants is recommended.
