Rainbow Rhythm Going Bananas Daylily will have homeowners and pollinators going bananas all summer long. The reblooming daylily has cascading, grass-like foliage that gives way to tall flowers by early summer. The flowers are lemon yellow and have a sweet fragrance. Bees, butterflies and hummingbirds all love the big yellow blooms. Most regions can expect blooms to continue all summer and into early fall.

Even after the pretty flowers fade, the mounded clump of Rainbow Rhythm Going Bananas Daylily foliage remains through late fall. This makes Going Bananas a good choice for a groundcover or erosion-control plant on a slope. The leaf base spreads to nearly 2 feet around by the end of summer and the flowers rise on long stems to about 2 feet above the foliage. This easy-care daylily is a must-have plant in zones 3 through 9.

Rainbow Rhythm Going Bananas Daylily Care

Rainbow Rhythm Going Bananas Daylily performs best in full sun or light afternoon shade. It can thrive in any soil type. Since the daylily is salt tolerant and has such a sweet fragrance while blooming, plant several along a sidewalk or garden border for full summer color. Water the daylily weekly during the growing season. If you like, add a low-nitrogen, slow-release fertilizer around the plants in spring when they first emerge from their winter rest. Divide the plants in summer if they become too crowded and replant divisions immediately.

Rainbow Rhythm Going Bananas Daylily Spacing

Rainbow Rhythm Going Bananas Daylily will stun your senses if planted as a large group or mass planting. Just space the daylilies about 2 feet apart from center to center.
