Guide: How to Care for Your New Plant(s)

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.

Plants Included In Rockin’ Out Annual Combination

What a bright cheerful combination this is! Large pure white clusters of verbena, bright yellow bidens with their slightly curled petals and fun purple and white streaked calibrachoa with a yellow pop in the center combine to create a fun combination for your porch or patio. Talk about rockin’ it out of the park! Three separate annual varieties combine to make one outstanding display.

Superbena, the hybrid offspring of verbena, sports large clusters of white florets and is a heat and drought tolerant annual that prefers full sun with some afternoon shade. Bidens ferulifolia is a native plant to much of the Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe and is also a heat and drought tolerant annual that prefers full sun locations. It is very cold sensitive, however, and is likely to not make it in temperatures below 40 degrees. Superbells are a hybrid of calibrachoa, a petunia relative that is heat tolerant. All three annuals will bloom all season long when given the proper growing conditions. Good news for you, they are all easy care annuals.

Rockin’ Out Annual Combination Care

Plant these annuals in full sun with perhaps some light shade in the afternoon. Providing a rich, well draining soil is crucial as these annuals will not thrive in soggy soil. Water up to an inch a week, allowing soil to dry out in between waterings, but avoid letting the flowers and leaves wilt. Fertilize with a slow release fertilizer when first planting these, and follow up in about 2 months with weekly applications of a water soluble fertilizer. If the foliage of the calibrachoa starts to yellow, add a chelated iron, preferably as a water soluble foliar spray, as calibrachoa is very sensitive to soil pH changes and the chelated iron helps the plant to take up needed nutrients.

Choose a 12 inch hanging basket or patio container when purchasing the 4 ¼ inch pot size plants. Space plants up to 12 inches apart as these plants will quickly fill the planter and cascade over the sides, trailing up to 24 inches. If purchasing additional quantities of plants, or the 8 inch pot size plants, consider a larger pot size, either a 14 or 16 inch. Deadheading is not necessary as all of these annuals will self clean. You may want to shear them if they get leggy. Remove up to ⅓ of the volume of the plant to create new branching and flowering in about a week and a half. Interweave stems of each plant when they get tall enough for an attractive ‘all over’ look.

Rockin’ Out Annual Combination Ideas

Although calibrachoa is thought to be easiest to grow in containers due to their need of extremely well draining soil, you may want to consider using these three annuals in your garden bed or landscape border. If your soil is heavy and compacted, amend it with sand and perlite, or consider planting in raised beds for best results. Either way, you can create an incredible display and rock it out of the park with these lovely annuals.
