The Sugar Buzz™ Cherry Pops Bee Balm is a looker that will command your attention. The unique, textured flowers have tubular petals that extend from the center of the flower. The 2.5-inch blooms are a dark pinkish-red hue and stand out against the glossy lance-shaped, deep green foliage. The flowers of the Bergamot bloom all summer long
This cultivar is tall at 20 to 24 inches high, so plant near the middle or back of beds, borders, or mass plantings. Pollinators love the sweet-smelling flowers that can also be trimmed to display in arrangements. This clump-forming plant has an upright growth habit and is easy to maintain and resistant to powdery mildew. Grow this beauty as a perennial in USDA zones 4 through 8.
Sugar Buzz™ Cherry Pops Bee Balm Care
Bee Balm prefers damp soil, so water once a week or when the top couple of inches of soil dries out. Use moist soil that is fertile and promotes good drainage. Select a spot that receives full sun to partial shade, but expect more prolific blooms in full sun. Apply balanced fertilizer each spring.
Deadhead Bee Balm encourages more flowering and keeps the plant looking its best. Sugar Buzz™ Cherry Pops Bee Balm is a clump-forming plant, so divide it every few years as needed.
Sugar Buzz™ Cherry Pops Bee Balm Spacing
Sugar Buzz™ Cherry Pops Bee Balm is a full plant with an upright growth habit. The stems will grow 20 to 24 inches tall and reach 16 to 20 inches wide. Space plants as close as 16 to 20 inches apart.
