Growing Zones
Miniature Roses continue to be some of the most popular plants for small gardens. Sunblaze® Peach Rose displays mesmerizing and diminutive flowers in sherbet shades of orange, yellow, and pink. Its dense branching holds deep green foliage that nicely sets off the flowers. Rosa ‘Meizonbla’ is a new introduction available since 2022. It has higher disease and pest resistance while maintaining excellent color saturation in full sun and high heat.
The deciduous foliage remains deep green and extraordinarily clean all summer long, making this tiny treasure a great filler plant in a seasonal mixed container planting. Miniature Roses are fully hardy in USDA gardening zones 5-11 and can be grown as a houseplant in other areas of the United States. Incorporate Sunblaze® Peach Rose into any sunny garden border for instant color, or grow it as a medium groundcover in tough-to-plant spots. Low-profile containers filled with miniature roses add refined elegance to an outdoor tabletop.
Sunblaze® Peach Rose Care
Sunblaze® Roses are so easy to grow that even inexperienced growers have success from their first season. Place them in a sunny spot with at least 6 hours of direct sun exposure. This rose prefers well-draining soil and benefits from regular watering and fertilizing to encourage nonstop blooming. Mulch with organic materials such as compost, finely shredded leaves, or untreated grass clippings, which break down and enrich the soil.
Trim for overall shape and remove any damaged or dead material in late winter before new growth emerges. Deadhead regularly during the summer to keep shrubs tidy and compact. Make cuts just above a leaf node.
Bring container-grown roses indoors before nighttime temperatures fall below 50 degrees F to overwinter plants. Place the rose in a window with bright direct light such as a south or southwest-facing exposure. Reduce watering to once every 7-10 days or when the top 2-3 inches of the potting mix are dry to the touch. Resume fertilizing in the spring when new shoots emerge.
Sunblaze® Peach Rose Spacing
Sunblaze® Peach Rose has a mature height and width of 1-2 feet. Grow them in containers with at least a 10-inch diameter and excellent bottom drainage. Plants grown in the garden should be spaced 12 inches apart.
