Growing Zones
Rated as one of the top garden roses, the Sunsprite Floribunda Rose will brighten up any garden. Producing golden-yellow blooms, which seem reluctant to ever fade, Sunsprite will amaze from late spring until fall. With its upright and bushy form of slightly glossy green foliage, the Sunsprite Floribunda Rose rarely grows above 4 feet tall, making it ideal for a variety of situations. Sunsprite’s flowers have to be seen to be believed, whether in the garden or cut for the house.
With its excellent resistance to disease, the Sunsprite Floribunda Rose should remain trouble-free. As a compact and bushy rose, Sunsprite can be grown in a border or a container, or used to create an informal flowering hedge. Above all, with its wonderfully fragrant blooms, you’ll want to plant it somewhere it will be appreciated. Sunsprite is suitable for growing in USDA zones 5 to 8.
Sunsprite Floribunda Rose Care
To really get the best from this rose, it should be grown in a sheltered spot in full sun. As with all roses, this Floribunda prefers to be grown in rich and fertile, but free-draining soil. After planting, this rose will require watering every few days until it has become established. After establishing, this rose requires a weekly watering to keep the soil moist. To help keep this rose in tip-top form and flowering all summer long, a rose-specific fertilizer can be applied as directed.
Any damaged or dead growth can be removed at any time of the year. Annually prune in late winter or early spring, removing up to two-thirds of the plant by cutting just above a bud. Sharp and sanitized pruning shears are advised to help prevent disease.
Sunsprite Floribunda Rose Spacing
At maturity, the Sunsprite Floribunda Rose can reach 3-4 feet tall by 2-3 wide. If planting this rose out as part of a group, a distance of 3 to 4 feet between plants is recommended.
