  • Award winning petunia hybrid!

Hundreds of small bright pink blooms cover medium green foliage on this top performing, award winning petunia hybrid. There are six more colors in the Mini Vista Supertunia series but this is one of the showiest. These small hot pink blooms will complement so many colors in combination: the bright yellows, deep purples, and the pure whites, oh the possibilities are endless! And let’s talk about pairing it with chartreuse green or burgundy colored foliage, wow!

Petunias are native to South America where they are perennial in Zones 10a through 11b. They are a tropical flower that is grown as an annual in Zones 2-9 after all danger of frost has passed. Once established they will continue to bloom up until fall in warm summer regions. They are a full sun annual, but will appreciate a little afternoon shade in the hottest part of the day to remain at their best. Supertunias are heat tolerant and will continue to bloom all summer long.

Supertunia Mini Vista® Hot Pink Petunia Care

With proper care and a little maintenance from you, Supertunias will respond to give you months of color and are very vigorous. Rich well draining soil with a pH of 5.5 to 5.8, water when it gets dry, and feeding with a balanced fertilizer when first established will get you great results. Follow up with another dose of fertilizer for a mid season boost for your plants in your landscape, and every two months with water soluble fertilizer for plants in containers.

Deadheading is not required on this petunia hybrid although some cultivars do require it. You can pinch back newly established plants to promote branching and subsequent increased flowering. Pruning becomes necessary when your plants get leggy and lank. Cut back about ⅓ of the volume of the plant, give it a good watering with the water soluble fertilizer and they will bounce back with health and vigor in about a week.

Supertunia Mini Vista® Hot Pink Petunia Spacing

Space your plants about 12 to 18 inches apart to promote good air circulation. Proper spacing also helps to reduce fungal diseases and insect infestation. Supertunias can grow up to 12 inches tall and spread out about 24 inches wide. Pair this hot pink annual with other petunia colors, or with calibrachoa, verbena, lantana, salvia, and nemesia, or leave it by itself with chartreuse sweet potato vine, ipomoea, to cascade out of a large container or hanging basket for an outstanding, long lasting display.
