The profusion of bright red flowers contrasting with the dark green foliage of Begonia Surefire Red will be a winner in your garden. This versatile begonia can be grown in any light level garden from sun to shade. This medium height will reach between 12 and 24 inches in height and a width of 18 to 24 inches in an upright habit.

This award-winning top-performing begonia is long blooming and produces flowers from spring to frost. Begonia benariensis is a good choice for a border plant or in mass garden plantings. It can be mass planted alone or in combination with other plants that prefer similar growing conditions. This stunning plant is best used in the thriller role in a container garden.

Surefire® Red Begonia Care

This begonia is heat tolerant and has a long blooming period without deadheading. It has average water and soil fertility requirements. They can stand up to drought conditions but will do best with consistent moisture levels.

Begonia Surefire Red is typically grown as an annual but is hardy in USDA planting zones 10 and 11. It may survive indoors as a houseplant because it can thrive in various light conditions.

Surefire® Red Begonia Spacing

In garden settings, space this plant 12 to 18 inches center on center. It can be spaced a minimum of 8 inches apart in a container garden to create a fuller look. You may need to cut it back if the container becomes too crowded.

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty whether you’re new or an expert. There are many variables outside our control and yours that can cause the demise of your plant(s). Examples would be hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, disease, insects & many other factors. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all the unknowns and will replace your plant if it moves on to the plant afterlife.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant purchase. We will cover 100% of the price of the plant but the warranty does not cover shipping cost. Simply let us know if your plant has died within one year of receiving it and we’ll get you a new one shipped out. We may ask for photos for documentation purposes but again we’ll try to make it as easy as possible.

The plants are thoroughly trialed and tested in every growing zone before we state the plant can grow in a zone.     I am delighted with the packaging, health of the plants and the biodegradable pots. Don’t leave your dog alone or he may eat the pot like ours did. Two minutes alone and half the pot was gone. Didn’t hurt the plant though. LOL
