This versatile begonia can be grown in any light level garden from sun to shade. This medium height will reach between 12 and 24 inches in height and a width of 18 to 24 inches in an upright habit.

This award-winning top-performing begonia is long blooming and produces flowers from spring to frost. Begonia benariensis is a good choice for a border plant or in mass garden plantings. It can be mass planted alone or in combination with other plants that prefer similar growing conditions. This stunning plant is best used in the thriller role in a container garden.

Surefire® Red Begonia Care

This begonia is heat tolerant and has a long blooming period without deadheading. It has average water and soil fertility requirements. They can stand up to drought conditions but will do best with consistent moisture levels.

Begonia Surefire Red is typically grown as an annual but is hardy in USDA planting zones 10 and 11. It may survive indoors as a houseplant because it can thrive in various light conditions.

Surefire® Red Begonia Spacing

In garden settings, space this plant 12 to 18 inches center on center. It can be spaced a minimum of 8 inches apart in a container garden to create a fuller look. You may need to cut it back if the container becomes too crowded.
