This Wine and Roses Weigela has two bloom seasons! Radiant pink blooms first appear in the late spring. The blooms make a second appearance in the summer. Paired with these blooms is a dark wine-colored foliage making for a grand eye catcher regardless of where you chose to plant it. While attracting hummingbirds this Weigela resists deer.

The foliage is a deep purple wine color that lasts all summer. The blooms that appear in both spring and summer are bright pink and vibrant. This deciduous shrub has a garden height of 48”to 60” inches and a spread of 40” to 60” inches. Use this Weigela to add color to your landscape or use its cut flowers in your arrangements. It does well with mass planting and border planting. The Wine and Roses Weigela has an upright habit making it great for planting as a thriller in containers.

Wine and Roses Weigela Care

Caring for your Wine and Roses Weigela is simple. This is a sun loving plant and should be planted in full sun and be sure it receives at minimum 6 hours of sun a day. Prefers medium-moist, well-drained soil, and has average water needs. The Wine and Roses Weigela is adaptable to all soils with varying PH levels. Slow release fertilizer should be applied in the spring. Pruning should be done in the early spring.

Wine and Roses Weigela Spacing

Proper spacing is important and ensures healthy roots and longevity of the plant. Spacing Wine and Roses Weigela should be at least 60” inches, center on center.

    Miniscule

I ordered 4 plants. When I saw 1 box in front of my house I looked for the others. They weren't there so I assumed that they were coming in an additional shipment. I opened the box and found all 4 plants. I can't call them bushes because they were about as large as the annuals I usually buy. I could have gotten bushes 4 times as large from a local nursery for the same price or a few dollars more. I don't know how long it will take them to grow into something I can call a bush.
