Feature
Albo Variegata Pothos is a showstopper of a climbing tropical houseplant. The leaves grow larger than most pothos and have random patterns of green and white, which add to this plant's drama. Epipremnum pinnatum also goes by the more common names of Devil’s Ivy and variegated Philodendron and is a great plant for beginning or experienced growers alike. Little maintenance other than routine watering and occasional repotting is necessary to this rather rare specimen plant.
Best Locations For Growing Albo Variegata Pothos
Pothos do not typically require high humidity and grow almost carefree in any room of the house. Grow Pothos as a floor plant climbing on a moss pole or trellis to accentuate its height and promote larger leaves. Hanging baskets are another good way to allow this plant to stretch out and trail. Keep the trailing stems away from children and pets, as the sap from the stems and leaves can be mildly toxic and may cause irritation on contact.
Albo Variegata Pothos Sunlight Requirements
Pothos prefers bright indirect light for best growth. Grow it in an east or west-facing window to maintain the brightness of the variegation. You may need to move your Pothos during the summer months if the window becomes too hot and bright during the afternoon and evening hours.
Albo Variegata Pothos Care
Use an all-purpose houseplant mix for planting. Ensure that the pot you use has excellent drainage from the bottom and is only 2-3 inches larger than the plant’s root ball. Trim any leaves that are yellowing or browning. Avoid pinching back the stems regularly, so the leaves can reach their mature size.
Watering Albo Variegata Pothos
Keep Pothos consistently watered, only allowing the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out between sessions. Water until liquid drains from the drainage holes to ensure that all of the potting mix has been saturated. Plants growing in lower light or during the winter months will require less watering and may need 10-14 days between waterings.
Feeding Albo Variegata Pothos
A balanced houseplant fertilizer should be used once a month during the spring and summer. Dilute the fertilizer to half the strength recommended on the package, and stop feeding when the days get shorter during late fall and winter.
