This indeterminate tomato variety begins producing in fruit in mid-summer and doesn't stop until frost. The deep red, large, juicy, slightly flattened round tomatoes it yields can weigh up to a pound. The Better Boy Tomato variety holds a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records with an output of almost 342 pounds of fruit from a single plant. Solanum-Better-Boy-Tomato’s thick foliage protects the fruit from sunscald. This tomato is a great all-around variety for home gardeners because it can be used for slicing, freezing, canning and sauces. Better Boy Tomato was bred to be resistant to verticillium wilt, fusarium wilt race 1, nematodes, Alternaria and gray leaf spot diseases.
