It’s no wonder butterflies, and other pollinators are drawn to the lovely CranRazz Butterfly Bush. This looker has large 8-inch flowers clusters or panicles made up of tiny raspberry-colored flowers with yellow eyes. This continuous blooming perennial will have flowers from spring until fall. The blooms of the Buddleia grow near the top of the stems, while the lower portions of the stems feature narrow green leaves.

This Butterfly Bush has an upright growth habit, and the stems gently arch and sway with the added weight of the flowers. This plant has a rustic look, making it an excellent addition to a hedge, border, or mass planting. Consider placing this plant near a patio or deck so you can enjoy the scent of the sweet-smelling flowers. The lovely blooms also make great cut flowers. The CranRazz Butterfly Bush grows as a perennial in USDA zones 5 through 8.

CranRazz Butterfly Bush Care

Plant the CranRazz Butterfly Bush in partial to full sun in rich, well-drained soil. Deeply water this plant weekly during the first growing season. Established plants are drought-tolerant and do not require frequent watering. Apply a balanced fertilizer annually each spring. 

Remove spent flowers to encourage more blooms. In warm regions, trim this plant in late fall or early spring. All growth will die back after the frost in cold areas, but new growth will emerge in the spring.

This upright perennial grows 5 to 6 feet tall and 4 to 5 feet wide. Plants can be grown as close as 4 to 5 feet apart to create a dense meadow-like effect.
