You can't beat having complementary colors on the same shrub, and that is what Decadence Pink Lemonade False Indigo gives you. This shrub packs all the features you love about false indigo (Baptisia), including deer resistance and drought tolerance. It also displays soft yellow flowers that eventually turn raspberry purple, giving you both colors at once. Decadence Pink Lemonade also has attractive green foliage and fall color as the flowers fade.
Decadence Pink Lemonade False Indigo reaches 4 feet tall and grows in a bushy mounded shape. It's a great short border or screen plant or a color focal point in your garden. Bees and butterflies are attracted to the pretty flowers, so be sure to place your Baptisia where you can enjoy its visitors. The native to North America also is salt tolerant for coastal areas.
Decadence Pink Lemonade False Indigo Care
Plant Decadence Pink Lemonade False Indigo in partial to full sun. The shrub can grow in most soil types but favors acidic or neutral earth. The soil should drain well, especially since this plant needs little extra water once established. It needs no deadheading, but you can cut flower stalks to bring inside. It's best to prune false indigo in late fall, after the colors fade.
Decadence Pink Lemonade False Indigo Spacing
Who needs a fence when you can plant a row of Decadence Pink Lemonade False Indigo shrubs as a multicolored border? Be sure to space the plants nearly 4 feet apart from center to center so they have room to reach full size.
