Espoma Organic Charcoal is a 100% pure, all-natural soil conditioner made from untreated hardwoods heated to high temperatures through pyrolysis. This soil conditioner enhances soil drainage in potting mixes and is ideal for containers and terrariums. Safe for people, pets, and the planet, it contains no additives or fillers and is organic approved.

How To Apply

Containers with Drainage Holes: Mix up to two cups of Espoma Organic Charcoal per cubic foot of potting soil (1 heaping tbsp per quart). For optimal results, include Bio-tone Starter Plus. Mix well, fill your container, and plant.

Containers without Drainage Holes: Add a 1-2 inch layer of Espoma Organic Charcoal to the bottom before filling with potting mix.

Terrariums: Clean and dry the container. Add a layer of small gravel, then ½ to 1 inch of Espoma Organic Charcoal. Top with a 1-inch layer of sphagnum peat moss to prevent soil from mixing with the gravel. Finish with Espoma Organic Potting Mix, and then plant.
