Its green-blue leaves produce blooms that are coral-red in the spring to late summer. It is hardy in zones 9 and above.

Hedgehog Aloe Sunlight Requirements
The Hedgehog Aloe will thrive when placed in a sunny spot or area. Windows that face west or east are preferable.
Hedgehog Aloe Plant Care
Deadheading is not required. Mix potting soil and sand by a 1:1 ratio for planting. Propagate through pups by separating at the root. Start with a four to six-inch pot and move up by four inches as necessary.
Watering Hedgehog Aloe
Water needs for the Hedgehog Aloe are low. During the summer water every 10 days or whenever the soil has dried out. The remainder of the year, water less frequently, approximately monthly. This plant does not tolerate overwatering and is susceptible to root rot.
Feeding Hedgehog Aloe
Fertilizer is not necessary but if desired, feed in the spring with a succulent specific fertilizer.
