For the best slicing tomato, the Homeslice Tomato Plant could well become your go-to variety. This plant produces 5-6 oz delicious red fruits with a superb flavor, which develop early with bountiful harvests. Growing to approximately 2 feet tall, this determinate tomato is ideal for growing in a container on a patio or balcony. Homeslice will provide the taste of summer you have been longing for.

Homeslice Tomato Plant Care

Tomato plants are heat and sun loving and thrive when grown in full sun. However, being tender, Homeslice should only be planted out once all risk of frost has passed. For the best yields, a rich and fertile compost should be used. If growing this tomato plant in a row, a spacing of 18 to 24 inches between plants is recommended.

Growing Homeslice Tomato Plant

If grown in full sun, this tomato plant can produce harvestable fruits in as little as 63 days from planting. Homeslice is suitable for growing outdoors or in a greenhouse, but needs to receive a minimum of six hours of sunlight a day. If grown from seed, Homeslice should be sown indoors at a temperature of around 70°F 6-8 weeks before the last frost is due.

Being a hungry plant, plant this tomato in rich, friable soil. When growing in a container, a minimum pot size of 12 inches wide and deep is recommended.

Watering Homeslice Tomato Plant

Tomato plants should be grown in a soil that is kept moist, but not overly wet. Container-grown plants can dry out more quickly than those grown in the ground and will need to be watered more often.

Feeding Homeslice Tomato Plant

Regular fertilizing is recommended to encourage the heaviest yields and tastiest fruits. A tomato-specific fertilizer can be applied as per the manufacturer’s instructions once the flowers have begun to form.
