Wow! The Incrediball® Hydrangea has the largest blooms of any hydrangea! With blooms as big as 12 inches wide! Hydrangea arborescens 'Abetwo' is a smooth hydrangea bred by Proven Winners®. The large blooms are also on very strong stems, that are able to hold the flowers upright, which is a common complaint of Annabelle hydrangeas. The flowers emerge in early summer as light green, then turn to white for most of the bloom period, then back to shades of green later in the year. These are great for cut flowers for bouquets and flower arrangements.

This shrub is native to North America and a great pollinating plant as well. Beneficial pollinating insects also enjoy these enormous flowers. This shrub is something that will stop your neighbors in their tracks once they see it. A truly incredible plant!

Incrediball Hydrangea Care

This hydrangea is very hardy and easy to care for. Plant these in a location that receives partial to full sun, or at least 4-6 hours of sunlight per day. It prefers moist, but well drained soil. We also recommend adding a layer of mulch to help protect roots from extreme weather conditions, and also to help retain moisture.

It is best to prune Incrediball hydrangeas in early spring. Cut back about a ⅓ of the total height of the bush. This will encourage new growth and flowers throughout the year, as well as improve the strength of the branches and stems to be able to hold up these massive flowers. Do not prune back to the ground.

Fertilize in early spring, before new growth starts. You can use general woody plant slow release fertilizer such as rose fertilizers. This shrub blooms on new and old wood, so the shrub will still bloom after very harsh winters, even in zone 3!

Incrediball Hydrangea Spacing

Plant Incrediball hydrangeas 5 to 6 feet apart, center on center. These also make beautiful privacy hedges. In order to grow these as a hedge, we recommend planting 4 to 5 feet apart, center on center. These shrubs can also grow in very large garden planters, but will need extra winter protection in colder climates if you choose to plant these in a pot.

    Give it some...

Posted by Tiffani Griffith-Dowty on Jul 31st 2020

When my Incrediball arrived I must admit I was a bit disappointed with the very small size and multiple broken stems from shipping. I propagated the broken stems and I've had great success in just over a months time, the cuttings are both rooted and healthy. As far as the main plant, I repotted her in a gallon sized pot with good quality potting soil and hydrangea fertilizer and in just over a month she's tripled in size. Since my area garden centers did not have this variety of hydrangea I am happy with this purchase even if it seems a bit pricey, it was a healthy plant and was it worth getting the variety I wanted.

    These are wonderful!

I'm surprised to see so many complains. I think the Incrediballs are amazing. Easy to care for, and they are the most beautiful hydrangea blossoms I have ever seen. I love them so much that I bought 13 to make a long beautiful hedge. Stunning!
They were a bit small and "scrawny" the first year or two, but by the 3rd season they have grown to be very substantial. They filled in VERY nicely.
    Highly recommend!

The plants arrived very small and several brown/burnt looking leaves - not sure if this is disease or if they got too hot in shipping. I am disappointed for the price I paid that these were not more sturdy plants. Jury is out on how they will do...trying to nurse them along.

the hydrangea took 3 weeks to ship and then it was so tiny I nearly missed it when I opened the box. You can get a better deal at your local store, don't bother.

I ordered the 1 quart pots so I knew they would be on the smaller side, but the plants are tiny. For the price, I kinda feel like I got ripped off.
