New Vintage™ Rose Yarrow (Achillea millefolium 'Balvinrose') beckons with bright cherry-rose blooms that remain richly colored rather than fading. These showy flower clusters pop up in early summer, perched above dense, silvery-green foliage. Expect a graceful upright habit reaching around 24 to 28 inches tall and 10 to 12 inches wide, making it perfect for enlivening border plantings or creating eye-catching container displays. Its fast growth and profuse blooms offer a reliable way to achieve lush color in sun-drenched areas, while the compact shape keeps it neat and composed.

This drought-tolerant perennial thrives in lean, well-drained soil and is hardy in zones 4 through 9. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees frequently visit its flattened blooms, adding movement and life to your garden. Deer and rabbits usually skip it, so the flowers stay pristine without fuss. Low watering needs and an easy-care routine make New Vintage™ Rose suitable for beginners or those looking to fill a space quickly. Whether included in cottage borders, pollinator gardens, or mass plantings, it stays fresh, bright, and eye-catching all season long.

New Vintage™ Rose Yarrow Care

New Vintage™ Rose Yarrow requires full sun, typically six or more hours of direct light each day. Plant it in well-drained soils—wet or overly rich soil can lead to floppy stems. Water regularly during the first few weeks after planting, then ease off as the plant adapts. Once established, it tolerates hot, dry conditions well and prefers not to be overfertilized. Occasional compost topdressing in spring is more than enough to keep it happy and encourage healthy growth.

After the first flush of flowers, you can clip the stems back to promote a new round of blooms later in the season. Trimming can also help prevent the plant from sprawling or flopping, especially in richer soils. In cooler climates, leave the foliage until it dies back naturally and perform any final cleanup in early spring.

If grown in containers, monitor moisture levels carefully and water when the top few inches of potting mix feel dry. Consider adding mulch around the base outdoors to help lock in soil moisture and reduce weed competition.

New Vintage™ Rose Yarrow Spacing

Place plants about 12 to 14 inches apart for a cohesive, dense border or group them more loosely for a casual, cottage-style look. For container growth, choose a pot at least 10 to 12 inches in diameter to allow for root expansion. This spacing ensures enough room for air circulation, healthy development, and a long-lasting, floriferous display.
