Growing Zones
A strong rebloomer for a Yarrow! At the top of its stems bloom fragrant, neatly, formed violet red flowers. In the summer they hold their color well and continue to bloom. The New Vintage Violet Yarrow is salt tolerant and brings in pollinators.
The foliage is a rich deep green and it too is fragrant. Its strong stems hold tidy sets of violet red fragrant flowers that bees and butterflies love. During the summer bloom season, you will be delighted at its continuous blooming and vibrant color. The upright habit of this perennial reaches twelve to fourteen inches with a spread of ten to twelve inches. Plant in a container, use its cut flowers for arrangements to add color and fragrance, use for border planting or mass planting. The flowers also dry well.
New Vintage Violet Yarrow Care
Care for your New Vintage Violet Yarrow but planting in full sun. It will grow well in any soil as long as it is well drained and there is plenty of sun. It is not a fan of extremely rich soil. After color begins to fade, cutting back flowers by half encourages rebloom. Water needs are average. Fertilizer can be applied in the spring if desired but be sure not to over fertilize.
New Vintage Violet Yarrow Spacing
When planting your New Vintage Violet Yarrow as a border plant or in mass planting, be sure to space it 12 - 14 inches, center on center. When growing in a garden planter, the pot should be at least five inches deep.
