October Magic® Orchid™ Camellia (Camellia sasanqua 'Green 94-035' PP20465) is a compact evergreen shrub that delivers big seasonal impact. While smaller in stature than many camellias, this variety dazzles in late fall with semi-double blooms in soft blush pink, deepening to richer pink at the tips of each petal. These orchid-like flowers provide a welcome splash of color just as most other garden plants are fading.
Even when not in bloom, this camellia is a standout. Its naturally rounded form and glossy, deep-green evergreen leaves ensure year-round beauty, adding structure and elegance to the landscape throughout winter and beyond. Perfect as an accent shrub, container plant, or as part of a hedge, the October Magic® Orchid™ Camellia combines charm, resilience, and versatility in one compact package.
October Magic® Orchid™ Camellia Care
Plant in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter for best growth. Camellias prefer partial shade, especially in hot climates, but will also tolerate morning sun. Water regularly during establishment, then provide consistent moisture during dry periods. Light pruning in spring, before the first flush of leaves, helps maintain shape and encourages healthy growth.
October Magic® Orchid™ Camellia Growth & Spacing
This camellia typically grows 4–6 feet tall and wide, making it ideal for smaller gardens and mixed borders. For a formal, dense hedge, space plants 3–4 feet apart on center. For a more natural, informal planting, allow at least 5 feet on center.
