The rose blooms have a very pleasant fragrance that is stronger than most other roses. It has a mounding habit and makes a great cut flower. It also does well when dried. The roses function as a border plant, specimen plant, in mass plantings, and as a landscape plant. This rose was developed by rose breeder David Zlesak and has already won the American Rose Society Award of Excellence in the No Spray division. It is hardy from 4a to 9b, so works well over a large area of the United States.
Oso Easy Peasy® Rose Care
Oso Easy Peasy® Rose must have full sun to do well. It needs about average soil fertility and water. Fertilize in the spring as new growth begins to appear with a fertilizer formulated for roses. Oso Easy Peasy® Rose does not require deadheading to bloom all season.
The rose shrubs bloom on new wood. Cut the whole rose back half to one third its size in early spring to make sure there will be lots of new wood to bloom on and to encourage healthy branching each year.
Oso Easy Peasy® Rose Spacing
Oso Easy Peasy® Rose is a medium rose that grows 30-40 inches tall and wide. To prevent disease, plant this rose at least 30-40 inches apart from another plant so there is plenty of air circulation and sunlight hitting the foliage.
