Over in Gloryland Siberian Iris (Iris siberica ‘Over in Gloryland’) unveils bright blue-purple petals highlighted by a gentle touch of yellow and cream at the base. These impressive, five-inch blooms put on a memorable show in late spring and early summer. The upright, swordlike foliage adds appealing contrast to cottage-style borders or water’s edge plantings. This selection also brings a touch of whimsy to gardens, proving easy and fun to grow for any plant enthusiast.

This species hails from the wider Iris family, famous for their adaptability and deer resistance. Expect it to handle moderate moisture conditions and reach up to about 34 inches tall. Perched among ponds or massed in a sunny bed, these resilient perennials tolerate part shade but thrive best in full sun, offering reliable color where many other tall perennials fade. Hardy through zones 3-9, it pairs nicely with lower-growing groundcovers or contrasting grasses.

Over in Gloryland Siberian Iris Care

Set rhizomes in moist, slightly acidic to neutral soil, ensuring adequate drainage. Keep them watered throughout the active season, especially in drier spells, and fertilize with a balanced formula in early spring. Full sun exposure generally yields the best bloom display, though partial shade is acceptable in hotter regions. Incorporate compost to support robust root systems.

Remove spent flower stalks once the show finishes, cutting back leaves only in late fall or early spring. A protective layer of mulch around outdoor clumps offers extra insulation in colder winter zones Dividing every three to five years can reinvigorate bloom production. In containers, choose a deep pot and maintain consistent watering so roots remain cool.

Over in Gloryland Siberian Iris Spacing

Place each plant 18 to 24 inches apart in borders or grouped mass plantings to accommodate mature width. If growing a single specimen, a pot of roughly 10 to 12 inches wide ensures ample space without oversaturating roots.
