These beauties can live together comfortably in a 12- to 14-inch container or use these plants to round out other containers, creating a full and flowery look. Petunias need partial to full sunlight. The ideal spot will receive 4 to 6 hours of light. Rich, slightly acidic soil will help the plants thrive, but the soil should also allow good drainage.
Apply water-soluble plant food every 2 to 4 weeks during the growing season to support abundant blooms. Cut back flowers once they start to fade to encourage more growth. If the plants begin to look leggy, you can trim them back by ⅓ to promote more branching and flowers.

Petunias have a mounded growth habit and trailing tendencies, so the plants will completely envelop a hanging basket, creating an orb of blooms and greenery. While these plants certainly thrive in containers, Petunias can also be used in mass plantings and landscapes or anyplace that needs a vibrant burst of color.
