Snow-N-Summer Asiatic Jasmine is a color-shifting evergreen that turns heads from spring through fall. New leaves flush bubblegum pink, fade to snowy white, then settle into glossy green, creating a living confetti effect. It stays low, spreads steadily, and shrugs off heat—perfect for easy, high-impact groundcover.
Use it to soften hard edges, tumble from planters, or knit together slopes where you’d rather not mow. In warm zones it’s nearly carefree, forming a dense, weed-suppressing carpet and even taking a light climb on a small trellis if you let it.
Snow-N-Summer Asiatic Jasmine Care
Provide full sun to partial shade; aim for 4–8 hours of direct sun, with afternoon shade in hot summers to prevent leaf scorch. Plant in well-drained soil (loam or sandy) with a pH of 6.0–7.5; raised beds help where drainage is poor. Water when the top 1–2 inches are dry during the first growing season; once established, water deeply every 7–10 days in summer, less in cool weather. Mulch 2–3 inches to conserve moisture and block weeds, keeping mulch a few inches off stems.
Feed in early spring with a slow-release balanced fertilizer (such as 10-10-10 or a shrub/groundcover blend); a light midsummer booster is optional in lean soils. Shear or trim in late winter/early spring to tidy and thicken the mat; spot-trim anytime to redirect runners. Hardy in USDA zones 7–10; in colder regions, grow in containers and overwinter in a bright, frost-free spot.
Snow-N-Summer Asiatic Jasmine Spacing
For solid groundcover, plant 12–18 inches on center; tighten to 12 inches for faster fill. As a specimen edging strip, allow a 24–30 inch wide bed to accommodate spread and ease of trimming. Keep 12–18 inches back from paths and lawns to reduce encroachment. At the base of a small trellis or fence, space 18–24 inches apart and guide young runners.
In containers or hanging baskets, use a 12–16 inch wide pot with good drainage and allow 6–12 inches of spill over the rim.
