Solera™ Lavender Geranium (Pelargonium interspecific 'TOSTE0185') showcases clusters of soft purple flowers on robust, upright stems that grow around 12 to 18 inches in height. The rounded habit delivers a steady show of color through the warmer months. Based on our observations, it performs well in both containers and garden beds, displaying healthy foliage even in challenging conditions. The unique blend of genetics provides consistent blooms and excellent ornamental value.
This hybrid originates from African geranium stock, which adds a level of resilience. It tolerates moderate drought and typically faces few pest or disease problems. Deer seldom bother it, so gardeners can enjoy worry-free planting. Use it in mass displays for a striking impact, add it to borders for soft color, or plant it in containers for quick curb appeal.
Solera™ Lavender Geranium Care
Position it in full sun to partial shade, and ensure the soil drains freely. Water more often during the early growth phase, then adjust to a moderate schedule once roots are established. A balanced, water-soluble fertilizer applied every couple of weeks helps maintain healthy foliage and consistent blooms. Aim for slightly acidic to neutral soil for the best results.
Deadhead spent flowers to encourage fresh color, although extensive pruning is unnecessary. Trim away any leggy stems if you prefer a neater appearance, and remove fading leaves as needed to promote airflow. In colder climates, consider bringing container-grown specimens indoors or treating them as annuals. Winter care involves minimizing watering and keeping pots in a cool, sheltered spot where temperatures remain above freezing.
Solera™ Lavender Geranium Spacing
For row plantings or mass groupings, allow about 12 to 15 inches between each plant so they have room to develop. A single specimen in a mixed border requires similar spacing on all sides. We recommend a pot at least 10 inches wide for a young plant, with larger containers making sense if you combine it with companion varieties or want more root space.
