SunPatiens® Compact Lavender Splash Impatiens (Impatiens x hybrida 'SAKIMP069') serves up soft, lavender-tinted petals with rose accents on a sturdy, mounded plant that energizes outdoor spaces from late spring to frost. In our plant trials, each bloom held its color well under full sun or partial shade, creating consistent interest all season. The lush, green foliage frames these large flowers, making this annual a treat for gardeners craving a continuous display of pastel color. Its reliable performance in a variety of light conditions sets it apart as a top choice for hanging baskets and mixed containers.

This hybrid thrives in both heat and humidity, proving native to tropical regions where bold impatiens species first emerged. Its compact habit and strong branching suit mass plantings, patio pots, and window boxes. It also shows notable tolerance to fluctuating weather, shrugging off summer extremes with minimal care. Low-maintenance watering needs and exceptional branching further highlight its garden-friendly temperament.

SunPatiens® Compact Lavender Splash Impatiens Care

Position it in a moderately rich, well-draining soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Water consistently, especially during warm spells or when grown in full sun, and feed every couple of weeks using a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer. Partial sun to full sun encourages lush growth and frequent blooms as long as soil moisture is maintained. Avoid waterlogged conditions to promote healthy root growth.

Light pruning is rarely required, though pinching back spindly stems helps maintain an even shape. Occasional deadheading keeps the plant tidy, though it generally self-cleans. Container-grown plants may need daily watering during peak summer, but always allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly before re-watering. In regions prone to colder nights, move container specimens indoors before temperatures dip below freezing.

SunPatiens® Compact Lavender Splash Impatiens Spacing

Set each plant about 12 to 22 inches apart if creating a massed border or row, leaving enough room for the mounded form. Select a container around 10 to 12 inches wide for individual starters, ensuring proper root space without surrounding the roots with excess soil.
