This eye-catching cherry red and hot pink variegated foliage ground cover will stand out in your garden. This fast-growing perennial groundcover will add interest to your gardens from spring into fall. Grow Sunsparkler Wildfire Stonecrop Sedum in full sun growing conditions. This short plant will grow to 6 inches tall and 18 inches wide in a mounded habit. It’s hardy in USDA planting zones 4 through 9.

Sunsparkler Wildfire Stonecrop Sedum attracts butterflies and is deer resistant. Add this sedum for a cheery, colorful filler in a container garden. Plant it in rock gardens, in mass planting as a ground cover, or in the front of border gardens. Large, long-lasting rose-pink flower heads appear in late summer.

Once established, this plant is drought tolerant. The colors will be more vibrant in full sun and drier growing conditions. Add a layer of compost when planting and then once a year.

The dried flower heads remain attractive in the winter garden. Wait until spring to cut them back. If you mulch your gardens, only add a thin layer around this sedum. Add just enough for weed control but not enough to retain excess moisture. Sedums don’t like competition from weeds.
